Recycle and Reward

A man putting a bottle into a Recycle and Reward machine

Thanks to Recycle and Reward trials happening across Scotland, you can get something back for recycling!

Recycle and Reward trials are underway across Scotland where you can get incentives like money back, or discount vouchers for returning empty bottles and cans, safe in the knowledge that all items collected will be sent for recycling.

Last year the Scottish Government made a commitment to pilot incentivised recycling systems for single use plastic, glass and aluminium containers in Scotland. So now you receive a reward for recycling bottles and cans at the locations listed here.

Each location collects different items and offers a different reward, so pop along and see what your local Recycle and Reward machine has to offer.

Simply place your item in the Recycle and Reward machine to claim your reward. Check with the operator for terms and conditions.

Considering your own incentivised recycling scheme?

If you are looking to increase the amount of empty bottles and cans you collect for recycling and are considering your own incentivised recycling scheme you may wish to consider using the Recycle and Reward brand. Recycle and Reward is a sub-brand of Recycle for Scotland and has all the benefits of the national recycling brand. What’s more, all messaging and visuals are consumer tested so you can be confident that your recycling scheme is delivering messages that consumers understand and feel motivated by.
